The bank was incorporated in Nigeria as a private Limited Liability Company on the 13th day of May 1995 as Umunna Estate Community Bank Nigeria Limited. The Registration and Provisional License Numbers were RC.285674 and 0929 respectively. However the bank was restructured and renamed Oluchukwu Community Bank Limited and commenced operation on 2nd April,2001. On 24th January, 2002 the Central bank of Nigeria issued the bank an operational License Number 000082. In the year 2007, the bank was succesfully migrated to a full-feldged micro finance bank incline with the new Microfinance bank policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN)Microfinance Banking Operational License Number 000065 dated 4th January, 2008 was issued to the bank by the Central Bank of Nigeria(CBN).
The business of the bank is micro finance banking. Our services are: Deposit mobilization,loan assessment;including Agric loan and others.
The conception of the bank was borne out of the need to have a financial institution to provide financial services and a lot of other benefits to the poor and medium classes of Nigeria populace. Thanks to the founding FATHERS who made it possible for the bank to come into existence. It is worthy to mention people like The Late Archbishop Emeritus of Onitsha Archdiocese , His Grace Most Rev. The main office of the bank was formerly located at the Bethany House, No.1 Akor Street Onitsha,under rent when it started operating in 2001, By the year 2008, the bank completed construction of her own Head Office complex inside the BASILICA of the Most Holy Trinity compound and moved into the building on 29th August the same year.
Since conversion to Microfinance Bank, the institution has continued to grow from strength to strength and has eight branches between 2009 and 2016 . Recently added a wonderful new branch at Nnobi on 2nd Feb, 2018 making it a total number of nine branches to the glory of God. The following branches were established
The majority of the shares of the bank was initially owned by the Catholic Archdiocese of Onitsha and the Diocese of Nnewi. Recently, Nnewi Diocese concluded an arrangement and transferred all her share holdings in the bank to Onitsha Archdiocese having established her own Microfinance bank known as Chukwunenye MFB Ltd. Also other corporate bodies, companies, individuals etc has shares with our reputable bank.
